Upon entering this field, immediately is one greeted by a heavy rain that beats against them and the rest of The World within this place. In front of them is an endless street with abandoned buildings that line the sides of the road they are on for as far as the eye can see. Some of these buildings look to simply be abandoned while others are completely destroyed, and a few are somewhere in-between. All of the buildings within the field are accessible, if you can find a way to get in yourself.
If one travels far enough down this road, the entire field seems to expand into something much larger than itself. There are buildings everywhere in sight that seem to keep you boxed in still, but at the same time the road splits and turns to allow more of this desolate metropolis to be explored! Be careful about traveling too deep into the field, however, for there have been rumors of unsightly creatures that roam the city streets in place of the NPCs that no longer do.

Entering the field, he could already feel the heavy rain hitting his helmet, glancing up it would seem like a gesture in vain. There were no visible slots for his eyes to see from, instead just a white sheen of the helmet that was completely closed off. Maybe that was what made the rain rolling down it seem that much sadder to those that would witness it? Well, whatever it was, he wasn't interested anyways he was here from something else. Heavy footsteps echoed through the streets with the blademaster's movements, keeping a hand on his sword, prepared to attack anything that jumped out.
He was simply here to fight and reduce whatever monsters dared impede his path to useless lumps of flesh. He had one goal for now, and that was just to increase his power as quickly as he could, that was all. He didn't care much for the interacting, and less so for a lot of the people, preferring solitude. The streets were oddly empty, but he was smarter than that, whatever wasn't shown was likely in hiding somewhere to attack.
Coming to the opening, he glanced down the different paths, wondering which one he should take. Each one could be a path to treasure or a dud, so really it was a 33.3% chance that he got something from one. Unless of course they split up even more down the line, but who knew. Turning to the right he began to walk down the street, looking around for something that might make this trip worth his while.

Rainier couldn’t really say why he suddenly closed his eyes when picking an area from the selection provided at the Chaos Gate; maybe the overwhelming feeling of anticipation got to him, anticipating his first adventure in [The World], or it could be that he wanted to be surprised by the area he chose to the point where hadn’t even bothered to look at the name when he made his hasty decision, only noting that the level looked more or less survivable for a newbie. Whatever the reason, when the new Blademaster gated in, his avatar’s eyes were scrunched shut - just like the player’s eyes behind his FMD in real life - so that the first thing he noticed about Δ BURIED SURVIVOR'S PILGRIMAGE wasn’t the crumbling skyscrapers crowding the dead city, seemingly heaped against each other as if years of standing tall in this broken metropolis left them too weary to even support themselves. Nor was it the shadows that lurked in the cramped, shadowy alleyways between said buildings, prowling around in search of anyone foolish enough to wander into their territory.
It was the rain.
Strong and steady, the rain pounded against Rai’s skin with full force, making the boy gasp with surprise as he opened his eyes to survey the area; he knew from reading the user manuals that the FMD he wore stimulated his brain to make him experience the same pain his avatar did, but he sure wasn’t expecting it to emulate the feeling of raindrops on his skin! Wow, he thought, gazing down at the back of his character’s hand to watch the raindrops bounce off of it,the programmers really went all-out with this game! An amused grin crossed his face as he looked up, rain streaking down his face and dampening his character’s hair. It spread all the more as he glanced around at the buildings surrounding him, his fresh-leaf colored eyes widening in quiet amazement as he took it all in, from the muted colors and textures of the building’s walls - everything painstakingly rendered down to the cracks in their surfaces - down to the puddles lining the streets and the way the dim light danced off the water’s rippling surface. Yeah, there was no doubt about it. This game was just too cool-looking! For a few minutes, the redhead just stood there admiring the scenery - oddly quiet, even though his mind was in full-on fanboy mode. He wished he could send the graphics team an email praising their skill, but they would probably delete it as spam anyway.
Suddenly, his character jerked forward, racing down the street in front of him, splashing through the puddles as he ran. Rai panicked for a moment, wondering what had happened and why he wasn’t in control of his character anymore - what if he was glitched or something! - when it finally hit him: he had dropped his controller.
“Aww crap!” He yelled, completely forgetting that his mic was on and anyone in the nearby area would be able to hear him as he tilted his FMD up to rest on his forehead and ducked under his desk to find the controller. Meanwhile, the Blademaster was still running through the streets toward nowhere in particular, completely vulnerable to attack. Fortunately, it only took a few seconds to retrieve it from where it fell, and as soon as he did he immediately slid his FMD back down over his eyes, praying all the while that no monsters had found his pc in brief the time he’d been afk because dying right off the bat on his first trip to an area would not be cool.
Lucky for him, the redhead hadn’t been attacked by any monsters yet. Less luck for him was the fact that Rai put his FMD back on just in time for his character to collide with a wall. Hard. The accompanying jolt of pain form his game device made him hiss in pain as the Blademaster fell backwards to land with a splash as he hit the soaked street, which in turn sent another wave of pain through his body. Grimacing, the blade master stood up, no longer sure whether to praise or curse the game’s pain mechanic, even though he was aware that it had actually hurt a lot less than running face-first into a wall should have. On the bright side, though, his hp was still full, so that meant he wouldn’t have to waste any SP this early in the game. That was always a plus.
The sound of footsteps nearby caught his attention and the Blademaster whirled around, sword in hand, half-hoping to see one of the monsters that were supposed to roam the areas now that he had his character back under control. Instead his gaze met what must have been another player character from the looks of things. Not for the first time, Rai was taken aback by how diverse this game’s avatars could be; this guy was covered head to toe in armor, with no visible human characteristics at all. Hell, if this hadn’t been a newbie area, he might have thought he was a monster or something - not that he knew if there were humanoid monsters in this game to begin with. Lowering his sword, he let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding and waved to the armor with his free hand. After all, the guy’s character was definitely intimidating looking, no doubt about it, but that didn’t mean that he had to be one of those rumored PKs or anything. Saying hello was just common courtesy, even in a game. Shyness be damned.
“Hey there!” The redhead called out, another one of his stupid grins breaking out across his character's face. “I almost thought you were a monster for a second, with that armor and all. That is one seriously cool character design!”

The familiar three digital rings encircled his characters form, and then disappeared as he gated into the field. Holding his black book to his side as he watched, and waited for a monster to attack him he finally realized that it wasn't going to happen, and started walking around the area. It was an interesting place that he hadn't been to yet. Making sure that he had his spells ready in case he needed to defend himself the newbie player started wandering around, and that was when he noticed it. Of course he should have noticed it to start with, as soon as he entered the place, but the rain. It felt so real, made the game seem like he wasn't even in a game, and that was quiet a trip. Sticking out his tongue he caught a drop on the tip of his tongue, and grinned like a child as he started to roam around.
The empty streets would make for very strategic battles, and players here could use the skyscrapers to their advantage to send their opponents into oblivion. Thinking he was the only one here as he walked around he was quiet surprised when he heard a voice not to far from him, and he ran as fast as he could towards the sound. Definitely not wanting to be alone in this place he opened his spell tome ready to cast one of the offensive spells that he had in his arsenal. Though the closer he got, the more he realized that he wasn't in any real danger, and he closed his book still trotting towards the other players. Puddles splashed causing him to get his cloak wet, and he finally arrived at the site of the two other players.
From the looks of things they were more durable than he was, and if it came down to a fight he knew that he would more than likely lose it. Though the thought didn't please him because he wanted to be the strongest player in [The World]. And in order to do that he couldn't accept defeat. This got him to thinking about something, and he absentmindedly started talking. "Hey there...My name is Ganta." he said though his mind was obviously elsewhere.

With the sudden shouting, it was made clear that he was no longer alone in this area, letting a mental sigh out. He would try to avoid the people as long as possible, and just see if there were monsters lurking about that he could kill. Unfortunately, luck would seem to be working against him, as he soon heard a voice coming up to him commenting on his armor. The comment of looking like a monster, caused a dark chuckle, that was probably a good comparison. A monster to slay other monsters, it was fitting, maybe that would be something that he could incorporate a bit more. "Maybe I am," he replied, his tone an amused one.
Before he could comment back, another person joined them, this one being a wavemaster by the tome he was carrying with him. Either that, or he was a really weird person that carried a book around with him. Then he named himself, sighing inwardly, he really didn't want to reveal his name or talk much really. "White Death," his voice deep, and gruff, which was further accentuated into an intimidating tone by the mask he wore. Digging the talon'd boots into the ground as much as he could, he focused on the two that were near him, his hand ready to grab his weapon should either decide to cause trouble.
For now, however, he would keep himself with a relaxed stance. Right now, he just wanted to walk away though, crowds were never really a part of his thing, sticking to himself. Turning his head, he wondered where all the monsters were hiding themselves, he was in the mood to fight something.
