What I really needed to know may have been between 1 and 0.

HAIR OUTLINE:
When deciding on a hair color for his avatar, Rai wanted a shade that was both similar and different from his real-life looks, and so he settled on a bright red, as opposed to the auburn color he has in real life. Style-wise it is short for the most part, but longer in the back to the point where it covers the collar of his avatar's jacket, as well as on either side of his face. Up top it's somewhat spiked and messy, but just looking at some of the other PCs wandering around the game proves that his is definitely not the worst case of crazy hair in [The World].
EYE OUTLINE:
Eyes were a bit more difficult. In real life, the player behind Rainier's eyes are on the gray side of blue, but he wanted to go with something a little more striking in the game. In the end he chose a leafy shade of green because he thought it stood out, especially with the character's bright red hair. The eyes themselves are wide and rather innocent looking, not unlike the player behind them.
BODY OUTLINE:
Well, here is where Rai definitely embellished his character's appearance a bit! While it's true that he based the avatar's height off his own, the real Rainier is a bit more slender than his PC, and definitely has less muscle definition; he insists that he picked the avatar's athletic build because it suited a hero-type Blademaster. It is definitely not because he wishes he could look like that in real life, nope, not a chance. And he's definitely not in denial about this fact.
ATTIRE:
While it's pretty common for Blademasters to don armor of some kind, Rainier's character completely forgoes this in favor of a high-collared white jacket that covers only his chest, leaving his midriff exposed to the game's elements; the garment has two long coattails, maroon lining, and gold trim on the edges as well as around the end of its not quite elbow-length sleeves, along with a black monster design on the back. Beneath this, the character wears a black shirt, though only the edges are visible due to the cut, and his pants are likewise black in color and somewhat baggy, with the addition of gold "rectangles" at the knees that conceal the opening to a pair of pockets. When not in use, his sword hangs off the back of his belt, positioned so that the left-handed model can draw it with ease. Finally, the avatar's footwear consists of brown boots with black markings, and on his hands he wears a pair of tan fingerless gloves.
MARKINGS:
As far as character markings go, his are fairly simple: two crimson stripes that resemble claw marks on either side of his face - the top ones are significantly longer than those on the bottom - along with two similarly colored circular "wristbands" on either of his hands, just above the edge of his gloves, and two more tapering scar-like stripes extending from his sides to cover part of his stomach. Nothing too elaborate, but cool-looking all the same.

POSITIVE TRAITS:
+ Rai is cheerful and slow to anger, and gives the feeling of being energetic despite sitting at a computer.
+ He's a quick learner when it comes to game mechanics, even though he's a newbie.
+ He is loyal to his friends and temporary party members alike, and won't abandon them in an area just because he's having trouble keeping up.
+ Tries his best to be helpful in any situation, though sometimes he doesn't have any idea what he's doing.
+ He is, if nothing else, determined; sure, his feelings can get hurt, but even while he's sulking he try to be productive. And he won't leave an area until he dies - unless someone with him convinces him otherwise - even if he is severely under leveled.
NEGATIVE TRAITS:
+ While he doesn't anger quickly, he does get discouraged easily, especially if someone is talking him down.
+ Hard on himself, especially if he does something he perceives as being "bad," like kill stealing on accident or not bringing enough healing items.
+ That said, his lack of self-confidence in such situations can be downright irritating.
+ He doesn't really think before rushing headfirst into a new area or battle, making rash decisions that he occasionally - even often - regrets, but doesn't necessarily learn from.
+ He's a little too trusting for his own good, and while he knows enough to avoid most scams, he is still easily fooled by some of the more unsavory character out there - like PKs.
LIKES:
+ Playing [The World]
+ RPGs in general; he's just as likely to be playing an offline game as an MMO. Or at least he was before he started playing [The World].
+ Writing, though he thinks this is kind of embarrassing. He's considering writing up adventures to go with his PC.
+ Apples. Lots of apples.
+ Chatting with people online, since he's actually pretty shy in real life.
DISLIKES:
+ Getting PK'd. Dying sucks.
+ Letting someone down.
+ Bees, bee-like monsters, monsters that remind him of bees for whatever reason....
+ If you write someone a message, remember punctuation and capitalization people! And for the love of videogames don't make him read leet-speak. (Though he himself uses emotes all the time.)
+ His self-confidence issues. He knows it's in his head, and he knows it's annoying, so why the hell can't he stop?
OBJECTIVES:
Um, to play the game and have fun?

WEAPON:
Rainier's default weapon is a sword with a wide, curved blade, longer than his forearm by about a hand's length. The back of the blade and part of the tip is black - in sharp contrast to the the plain steel of the blade itself - and flows into the sword's hand guard and grip, which are also black with gold accents. The most striking feature of the weapon is the pair of stylized monster eyes present on the hand guard, which gives the illusion that the sword itself is glaring at you.
