Upon gating in, the player character will be set outside the ornate gates of what is unmistakably a graveyard. It expands as far as the eye can see of the field, with various tombstones and even the mausoleums of once-rich families. The sky is stuck in eternal sunset, painting the scenery a dusky orange. While morbid because of location, some might find the sight beautiful.
The further one walks into the cemetery, however, the creepier it starts to get. Although sunset has yet to pass, the shadows have elongated and all natural noise seems to have stopped. A single footstep will seem loud enough to wake the dead. At the very center of the cemetery is a door, closed and leading to absolutely nothing. If the player character is so brave as to open it, all hell will break loose ... literally. A ghostly blue light will pour from the entrance, obscuring what might be behind it; ghouls appear to harass the fool who disturbed them. Worst of all, any creatures the player may have encountered thus far will seem like nothing compared to the demonic entities that have been released.

—gating in . . . It was a familiar feeling, as if the entire World was flashing before her eyes and brushing against her skin, pixel by pixel. Imagined? Yes. The power of a server moderator was great, but it could never be the same as when the system was her home. The golden bands produced by the Chaos Gate in Lia Fail were spinning at a rapid pace now, entwining and stitching the pattern that was her avatar. Eventually they deposited her there, alone except for the echoing sound of a bell.
"It's been a long time," Adrienne breathed quietly to herself, as if afraid she would be overheard. A quick scan of the field beforehand told her that no other PC had yet to grace the graveyard landscape, but there was enough time between then and now to prove her wrong. Instead of dwelling on it, she started forward, as if driven by a goal formulated long before this, her first login to [The World] since taking the position as moderator.
In reality, this was nothing more than aimless wandering. Exploring, if you will. Heterochromatic eyes darted back and forth between the gravestones, as if expecting a monster to appear at any moment. It was possible, yes ... but she doubted their portals would be stationed to very close to the entrance of the field. Satisfied that she was in no immediate danger, the girl stopped before a tree whose leaves were dying, a mess of dark green and brown. With the provided sunset, it was almost a pretty sight, but there was no time to enjoy it fully. No. The avatar bent her knees, and with an almost inhuman movement bounded into the lowest branch.
Crouched. Waiting. Where is the prey?

Ω PUTRID CORPSE'S UTOPIA . . .
Almost immediately the familiar almost chip-tune-esque music chimed to let Comatose know he had successfully gated to the area. This audible confirmation was seconds later met by visual confirmation as the field seemingly phased into existence. This wasn't his first trip into a field, it was something he had done countless of times before. You see, categorically he wasn't a casual player by any means. He had opted to take the financial blow of purchasing a second account from which to make an alternate character on. This was just that.
The lower leveled grind was always intense, even as it was monotonous. A simple swing of a sword managed to hack off a passing zombie's arm, though of course not stop it. An immediately second swipe lopped off the monsters, head, killing it instantly. A fun little detail added into The World for realism he supposed.
It was only when one played the game on different characters that they could see the immediately difference between them as he did. It was hard to get used to one from another. Being a Blademaster made his body more sluggish than he had imagined, not expecting it to be such a giant downgrade from the Twin Blade he was used to. Nevertheless, he trudged on without much of a problem. The plan was to simply grind a level or two, along with some supplies.

Eyes closed, a look of excessive pleasure flickering across the pale face as another chime sounded. It was perfect, really—almost immediately after she had taken up her watchful perch. From here, it was possible to lock onto the new player when his avatar appeared, and even to watch as he harassed a zombie that appeared to assail him. Poor thing, it really didn't stand a chance ... Not yet. These monsters were too weak to be of much concern, unless they managed to gang up on a player.
Fufu, she chuckled mentally, a broad smile splitting the nude lips. If she allowed him to get to the door, he would probably cause both of their deaths. No, it would be far more fun to intercept him during what was unmistakably an attempt to grind those first few levels. There was a chance he had not saved his game in Lia Fail before coming here, and if he died, all of that leveling would go to waste! Perfection.
Nails dug into the tree's bark, ripping some from the fleshy would beneath. Then, with another inhuman leap she was off the branch and sprinting toward the male avatar. Left hand raised into the air, light encompassing her hand as her favorite weapon appeared in her grasp. Just in time, too: the serrated edge of the polearm was swung vertically, taking off the head of a zombie that was just about to pounce on the man. It crumpled to the ground twitching, and then disappeared in a burst of pixels.
"Are you crazy?" She huffed, right hand coming to settle on the corresponding hip. It was a condescending pose, made worse by the scowl Adrienne saw fit to wear. "You can't handle these monsters without a party."

"Hmm?" He would respond almost inattentively to the sudden leaping player, who seemingly came in his defense.
It was true that for a normal player taking these monsters head on was probably impossible, at least for one that didn't know the trick to it. He was focusing on killing the zombies, who gave experience at a decent rate and could be put down with that single beheading. As long as one avoided the groups, went for the head, and made sure not to get surrounded they would be fine. The monster that was coming from behind him was. . a miscalculation. He hadn't seem them pounce before.
"They aren't supposed to pounce. That's weird."A helpless shrug.
It was quite coincidental that the monster had pounced when she appeared. In fact, it was quite coincidental she was here at all, no lower leveled player went to these depths alone as she said. He could tell, at least gear-wise, she wasn't high leveled. Though, her weapon in particular looked peculiar.
"The same could be said of you, what are you doing here? I suppose I should thank you. However, I'm skeptical as to how the monster suddenly developed a pouncing skill. ."

Hm, more intelligent than I expected ...
The scowl slowly morphed into a barely-there smile as she focused her dual-colored gaze upon him, studying the avatar model more carefully. It wasn't bad looking; in fact, it was aesthetically pleasing, if one did not take into account the low-grade gear and equally common weapon. At this thought, her grip tightened around Nekura's shaft protectively. From the weapon's jagged maw came a curl of smoke, identical in color to the polearm itself.
Would he also notice that, coincidentally, the monsters had all but disappeared? Adrienne did not look around, but she knew that they would not be bothered so long as she wished to occupy his attention. "Zombies do not pounce, you say? You're going to be shocked when you realize how much more advanced this game has become, with the new System Administrator in charge." Especially Omega Server, she added proudly, smile widening a notch.
"Regardless, you're quite a low level. Should you be here at all? Delta Server would be more your style, perhaps ..." Her voice mellowed into a hum, eyes narrowing to make the insult more obvious. No, she did not think he was worthy of this place. The only thing he could be counted on to do was satisfy Nekura's urge to PK, even though it would only satiate the weapon for a short period of time. Less yelling; less drama.

"Lets just say, the zombies didn't pounce yesterday." He said with a lazy grin.
It wasn't far-fetched either, though the time-frame exaggerated. The holidays had taken him away from The World for a few days, but his last login on his main was to this exact field. That day he was simply grinding an item dropped by a different monster here to help a friend with crafting. No unique method, at least to him, was employed to kill zombies that day. You hacked their heads off, they died. Never once did they even lurch at gaining speed, they did what they always did and were programmed to do, barely hobble about. Never did they pounce.
Though he hadn't taken note of the fact that all the zombies had disappeared initially — lost in the conversation with the peculiar girl, it was noted after his response. It marked the second unusual act since the introduction of the girl to the field, and in his prescience. That meant one of two things, some level of moderation was going on (with her the obvious culprit) or hacking. It didn't really concern him much though. He had experienced both before too.
"You're not very subtle are you? No. I get you enjoy flaunting all this. I mean, the endless spawns of Zombies stopped. So. . Moderator or Hacker?" A blunt question, that he somewhat knew the answer to. A hacker changing something of this scale for this long was liable to get noticed and caught. However, if she wasn't a hacker but a Moderator. . why the hell was she bothering his gametime?

Oh, wow. This one just kept getting better and better! The only indication of this outwardly was the smile, though—it was becoming more apparent as time went on, especially when he showed his deductive skill. The bottom of her polearm was tapped against the ground lightly, using the weapon as something of a prop for her weight; the soil was moist enough with decay that it clung to the rondel quite easily.
"If I was a hacker, it wouldn't be in my best interest to tell you that. As for being a moderator, do you really think I would be such a low level if that was the case?" Adrienne tilted her head to the side, raven locks falling over her face to obscure the curious, owlish expression. Did she really believe this would fool him? No. There was a good chance he would decide her to be the former of the two, however. Why did she feel so self-conscious about her position in the game being known? It wasn't a matter of being embarrassed, so much as his knowledge could potentially get her in trouble when she finally decided to PK him. The Sys Admin wouldn't like to hear that report, she was certain.
"If you wanted to be more logical, you could just take into account that you've defeated this group of zombies and the next spawn point is over ... there," she waved behind him lazily with her free hand, indicating a yellow magic portal glowing faintly in the dusk. They were hidden carefully in most fields to give a more realistic game experience, but he needed to see it for her to make a point. "You could take a few more steps in that direction and get attacked by more undead creatures, if you wish. Or you could be a dear and keep me company, because I haven't been in a party in quite a long time."
He didn't seem the friendly type, but then again, he didn't need to be. She just wanted him to feel a sense of security before she stabbed him and drained him of his precious health points. Yes, Nekura needed it. Craved it.
"What's your name?"

"If only spawns worked so coincidentally! Right on time, huh?"
He tried to hide the more than obvious sarcasm, but now he was sure which one she was. As she had assumed, it was quite easy to deduce this. It had been more than long enough. Someone would have come in reaction, some form of moderation would have occurred. However, it wouldn't happen, because he was himself looking at what was probably the moderator of Omega server. What he assumed would be far more interesting was why exactly she had such a look of bloodlust in her eyes.
" Your metaphor was well received. I don't think the zombies would provide a challenge. Still, I don't think you're too good at this. You're so hesitant to just tell me your a mod, yet you had such a reactionary response in spawning new mobs, something that clearly told me you were one. Still. . "
His simple longsword was readied, as his stance was taken, the arm holding the weapon somewhat outstretched pointing directly toward her.
". . Even more interesting is why you would want to fight me? PK - A moderator PKing? Unusual to say the least. The Sys. Admin will have a field day with this ticket. A moderator attacks a lowly level 1 newbie. "

The sword did not disturb her. Adrienne had saved at the Root Town before coming here, just in case the prey was strong enough to become the hunter. No, no data would be lost from this character if indeed she found herself killed by a player character or a monster. So, she focused her attention on the tip of the blade, slowing following the straight blade up until she could study his fingers, wrist, arm ... face, again. Emerald and amethyst eyes brightened when they locked upon the dull chocolate of his own, as if childishly daring him to continue this.
"And you expect me to believe you're a newbie, hmm? Countless new players try their luck in Omega without realizing the level differences. These zombies are high level as well, but a player with more experience would know that they still go down with a blow to the head. Likewise, you said yourself you've never seen these zombies pounce ... and I haven't seen this avatar in my server before."
He wasn't the only one that could use clues to deduce information, surely. Adrienne had willingly admitted to him that she was a moderator now, but it hardly mattered. If he made the first move in attacking her, then a ticket to the Sys. Admin would mean nothing. After all, he would trust her word over some boy's ... even if he knew that she was perfectly capable of having the urge to PK. Mm. Precarious situation, this, but that just made it even more fun!
Another puff of smoke curled from Nekura's serrated edge, as if the weapon was huffing in anger or disappointment. It could feel the bloodlust draining from her, but she knew that there would be no complaints. This game of cat-and-mouse was not new to either of them, and she could change her mind as quickly as a bat of the eyelash. They didn't call her the queen of drama for nothing, after all.
"Also, last I checked I saved you from being eaten alive by that last zombie. What makes you think I am attacking you? You're the one with a blade pointed at me, and you've yet to even give me your name! Shame, shame."
