The child blinked as the apparent party leader pointed his weapon at him, but instead of seeming frightened, a smile lit up his face. It wasn't the threat that made him interested, but the obvious will to fight in this man; as it happened, that was exactly what Akihiko was looking for! Before replying however, he turned his attention on the other party members, who had also recognized his presence in some way.

To Phira he said, "Oh! I know you're not scary, player, don't worry. You see, I came to this field because my elder brother told me about an item here ..." he trailed off, blushing furiously all of the sudden. "It's called the Ivory Barette, and it's very valuable. I want to give it to my best friend, because I want to prove my love for her!" The shyness was suddenly gone; Akihiko puffed out his chest, ears twitching wildly, daring them to doubt his feelings.

Now, at last, he returned his attention to Brand. "I have nothing to give you, but I'm sure this journey will be a valuable experience in your time in [The World]. Likewise, the barette is all I need ... you may keep whatever other items we happen to find. My brother assured me that this field was ripe with treasure and rare items!" Now, to directly acknowledge Elissa, he swept his hand in her direction. "I will, of course, accompany you. In Mac Anu, I am known as an accomplished Wavemaster! I'm sure I could be a great addition to your team!"

The King Accepts Your Fealty, Die For Me Knight!

He thought, and lowered his staff, pushing pain and misery into the square of ground that it rested on. He gripped the top of it, digital lines of wear where his hand had lain so many times. And he twisted, wooden friction tore into the ground, the material of the street did not give yet it took the torture silently. His eyes were mercurial as he grew close to the decision, they boiled and swirled silently until they crystallized, his ambition as a catalyst. He clicked his staff lightly again on the ground, the sound on level with a muted snap of a thumb and forefinger as he cleared his mind and voiced his decision. Indeed, the prospect of possible riches is a strong one. He retracted his twin daggered stare and resigned himself to a simple critical gaze at the bouncing happy letters above the npc’s name. You may join us, and we shall find your treasure. He did not quest for the companionship, he quested for the reward, this fey fellow had brought to him what he had desired since he materialized through the chaose gate, the promise of riches and experience. He made his first turn about face, summarizing his companions and eyeing them, he soaked in their expressions, their features, their names, even their very builds.If you are ready we shall leave, if not you shall be left.

He then turned back, back to the aquamarine hair and voiced Commence Quest.

Kid took a note of the group leader's mannerisms. He was very violent with his movements, the way he spoke made him seem like one who thought rather highly of himself. Kid figured he thought of himself as a righteous king that ruled with an iron fist. He walked beside the group leader 'Brand'.

Now that they had their first assignment he was going to make sure that everything went smoothly. He lowered his right arm, allowing the blade of his scythe to touch the cracked concrete beneath his feet. He was confident that his performance in this quest would allow him to prove himself a useful asset to other the other PCs.

"Then lets get to it" these were the most words he said since he entered the field. The rain continued to pour, there was obviously no end to this downpour. This environment would make it rather difficult to engage combat with an enemy, his sunglasses made it easier to see though the ground was wet, they had a long quest ahead of them.

Elissa listened to the leader, Brand, talk to the little boy. She smiled to herself. 'How sweet, she thought, That this little boy has someone he already loves. I wish I would have someone like that when I was younger...' Her facial expression went dreamy, until she heard Brand's voice echo the two words she's been waiting for. She leaped and said, "Alright, then! Let's go! And pointed towards the narrow road in front of them.

[PHIRA]

"See? I told you we would get something from this!" Phira said, although it was a shame Akihiko can't give them anything extra. Oh well - the XP should be a good reward in itself. She looked at the other members of this little party - two Wavemasters, one Archer, and two melee attackers. Well, it's not bad, though they might need some teamwork issues.

Elissa would be the easiest to be with - she seems nice and cheerful enough and hey, at least she's not the only girl on this team. Kid looks decent, weird names aside, although she hoped he would talk more. Maybe she could ask him to tank? Brand, though, was the weirdest of the lot - what's with that speech pattern, is he roleplaying or something? Well, at least he knows what he's doing. He can be leader for now, I suppose.

"Lead the way, Akihiko!" She was far more enthusiastic now, dreary area map aside. She finally drew her blads - with them accepting the quest, monsters are sure to appear now. Hope there's no ambush...

Yes, there was something about taking a quest that attracted all the monsters in the area, wasn't there? In this case, it was Akihiko, who in his excitement had forgotten something rather important: the monsters that had been chasing him! He knew that jumping out of the window would confuse them long enough for him to get away, but here he was, dawdling, taking his merry old time talking to these adventurers!

A very animated sweatdrop ran down the side of the boy's head as his ears violently twitched, signalling his nervousness. "I-I think I hear monsters!" He lied; on cue, from the ruined doorway of the building he had occupied hopped two ... frogs? They were larger than what one was normally used to, standing on all fours to a height of about a normal male avatar's midsection. The one on the left (Rana A) opened its jaws, revealing unnaturally sharp fangs as it croaked its triumph over locating their meal.

Akihiko scrambled away from the frogs, moving to hide behind Kid. The one on the right (Rana B) was already in chase, but seemed to decide mid-way through that the prey was no longer worth it—there was more fun to be had here. Instead, it turned suddenly and violently to face Brand. Its mouth opened, and a barbed tongue slid out, bashing him across the face like a whip.

Meanwhile, one of the many species of flora growing around the decrepit city seemed to come to life as the action started. The white grass-like plant began to sway, but it remained in its spot, rooted next to the window Akihiko had appeared from. Not far at all from the frogs, who took no notice of it.

Me and my big mouth! Indeed, the frogs caught her - and everybody else - off-guard, resulting at their leader losing precious points. Well, they know whom to attack. Not bad, AI.

She saw the white plant by the corner of her eye, but she took no heed of it - it hasn't attacked them yet, and it looks like it's of a weaker bunch compared to these frogs. So she leaped, closing the distance between her and Rana B within a few seconds, and then proceeded to deliver a slash through its body.

Murder! Murder The Fucking Peasant!

Fucking Scum! He recoiled with a lick of blood matted on his cheek, the feeling of sandpaper applied with a hammer to his cheek resounded throughout his senses as he welled up with rage. He knew this quest was not going to be simple walking, but he was not supposed to be hit first, let alone at all. He gripped his staff as if he were choking the blue haired boy, slowly cutting away his oxygen until his body matched his hair from hypoxia. He leaned on his sturdy staff of wood until his balance was fortified, it did not take but a second. He was in front, and he was the leader, frogs wouldn’t stop them. He would obliterate them; he raised his staff and his hair floated a bit as he expunged from his body a sliver of sp his voice amplified slighty he barked out ” Vak Rom” (Lv.1 M: R: Fire: Tornado: SP: 10). The tornado was instant, it launched forward towards the frog at speeds his own body could not match, in its wake lie the building window as well if there was a frog lying in wait behind this one, he would boil in its own skin. He slid back, an equal distance from both frogs till he was level with his own allies, perhaps they would attack the fleshier of his team instead of him. He could create damage, but they were trained to be resilient.

He beckoned to his allies as he saw phira speeding up behind him, perhaps to deliver a blow: I don’t need to say it, but kill the monsters! It's the first step to our impending success!.

[Kid]

The NPC joined the group, but Kid forgot completely about the monster that he was running away from, and they also entered from the obliterated door. Kid's body felt frozen for a moment, it was his first battle his moment to prove himself. After the creatures made their first moves he had no more time for hesitation.

Throughout his nervousness he let out what sounded like a battle grunt and rushed forward, seeing as there were no other PCs suited for tanking other than himself his positioned himself in front of the rest of the group. "Stay behind me!" he shouted, he hadn't turned to look to see if they had gotten the message, he was too occupied on being prepared to take hits from these hostiles.

It was his time to attack, he ran to the creature that just attacked Brand, his plans were to act as a wall between the monsters and his group members. This hostile, already penetrated the wall, thus it was first priority. Once there was enough distance between it and Kid, he jumped into the air and swung his scythe while turning 360 degrees. He let out another grunt as he swung the scythe.

Even if the scythe hadn't met its target, Kid was braced himself for the landing, hoping that the wet ground wouldn't cause him to slip and fall.

"Darn." Elissa hissed to herself, as Rana B attacked at Brand and stole his HP. As Phira made her shot, she yelled, "Nice shot, Phira!" Though it seemd as though that shot wasn't enough. She was also about to attack the monster too, until Brand attacked it, and then Kid. She was slightly irritated, though at the same time very impressed. In fact, Elissa was so impressed that she blushed beat red... though it might've been for another reason.

'Oh my... you know, thinking about it, both Brand and Kid are very handsome... they're my type of man, in fact!' It was as if she had hearts in her eyes. She switched back to normal quickly, though. Right! I have no time to think of this...' She dashed towards the back of the monster, and mouthed to her partners, 'I'll finish this off.' And yelled, "Alright! Time for you to taste some of your own medicine! ARROW LAVISH! She yelled.
