Upon entering this field, immediately is one greeted by a heavy rain that beats against them and the rest of The World within this place. In front of them is an endless street with abandoned buildings that line the sides of the road they are on for as far as the eye can see. Some of these buildings look to simply be abandoned while others are completely destroyed, and a few are somewhere in-between. All of the buildings within the field are accessible, if you can find a way to get in yourself.
If one travels far enough down this road, the entire field seems to expand into something much larger than itself. There are buildings everywhere in sight that seem to keep you boxed in still, but at the same time the road splits and turns to allow more of this desolate metropolis to be explored! Be careful about traveling too deep into the field, however, for there have been rumors of unsightly creatures that roam the city streets in place of the NPCs that no longer do.
ADDY'S QUEST RULES! 1. Each person can only post once between each GM post. There is NO posting order, however, so long as everyone has the chance to take a turn.
2. There will be a 24 IIC. If you don't post in 24 hours after the last person who posted, you will be skipped. Don't fret! You can post next round.
3. EXP gained as part of an NPC-generated quest will be given to each player, but EXP gained from defeating a monster will be divided equally amongst the party.
4. Loot is distributed systematically, cycling between party members to preserve a fair atmosphere. Don't forget, we do have the ability to trade! On the other hand, gold is divided equally unless it comes as a quest reward.
5. When the players are not engaged in combat, 3 HP and SP will regenerate per turn. Use this to your advantage!

Now Entering:… Buried Survivor’s Pilgrimage.
Static clung to his face as he emerged. An ebony hand, sharp as a dagger, cut a swath through the chaos gate before it was joined by a second, this one bearing a generic staff. The wood clicked to the ground as a leather shoe landed in suit, bringing with it by tether a sinuous leg along with its twin. A torso was stabilized on two legs, and then perfect visage finally came. Radiant sculpted features made themselves apparent to the world. He added class and beauty to this venue, his presence was a visual boon. A crooked smirk that dashed any scent of anything, save malicious playfulness, appeared on his face. He stepped out, garbed in a black hoodie, lined with white fur at the nape of his neck. The hoodie was zipped tightly in preparation to weather the weather; a shirt lightly peaked out from the space where the zipper lay. Black jeans completed the ensemble.
The rain came down and tore his image downward, the fur sagged, his hair slowly matted, oily black against his skin. This was indeed the buried survivor’s pilgrimage, where the souls cried down from the heavens.

Entering: Buried Survivor's Pilgrimage Kid opened his eyes in a cloudy city, as he body continued to materialize he looked around. He preferred the city much over the country side, making this field one that he would probably visit frequently. Though the rain was not something he foresaw, otherwise he would not have come dressed as he did. He wore all black, the exception being his red dress shirt.
At this point, he could feel his scythe in his hand. He lifted it onto his shoulders and took a deep breath. He loved the smell of rain, though it wasn't too friendly to his attire. He loosened his tie and reached into his pocket in his blazer, while keeping his scythe steady on his shoulders with his right hand.
He took out his black sunglasses and put them on, then pushed on the bridge to ensure they fit well on his nose and wouldn't fall off. He then turned to his right and saw another player in the distance. It was one of the other members of the questing group he had recently joined. "Yo" he called out.

Entering: Buried Survivor's Pilgrimage
'Drip, drop, drip.' That was the sound that Elissa was hearing. Elissa slowly opened her eyes, and found rain beating down hard on her. She saw that she was laying down, and got up, rubbing her eyes. 'Darn! I'm all wet... oh well. It is worth it, after all!' She thought to herself cheerfully, for this was her first quest.
Pulling a few strands of her pink hair behind one of her ears, Elissa began wandering around, longbow in hand. It wasn't until she saw a man in a sweatshirt that she stopped. Waving, she yelled, "Hello there! Are you one of the people I'm supposed to meet up with for the quest? And ran up to him. She could tell that what was about to happen will prove to be interesting.

The drumming was so loud it was annoying. No other place in The World had rain as bad as this - heck, it never rained this badly on her own place in real life. It all seemed to be the perfect set up of some survival game, with all the abandoned city buildings. Phira frowned - with her clothes of choice, she would stick out like a sore thumb. Probably it won't matter to AI. Probably.
She looked around, her blades' hilts within the reach of her hand. They couldn't have gone far yet, not without an incomplete team and aggressive monsters in the midst. True enough, she eventually saw a group of three in the clearing, and their names were the ones listed on the BBS. She ran towards them and waved.
"Hello." Phira inserted a bow emoticon for good measure. "I'll be your resident Twin Blade for this session, please be gentle with me. ^.^"
Offline, her user giggled. Okay, maybe that one sounded too awkward.

When the party members appeared within the decimated city, it seemed as if the field reacted. Like the buildings around them were taking a deep breath, the wind suddenly howled into life; the already harsh rain was forced to fall sideways, a constant sting upon any bare flesh. To some this would just be another amazing facet of [The World], that the weather could be just as temperamental as it could in real life, but to others it may have seemed an ominous sign. Some PCs could get superstitious, especially when their very first quest was on the line. The city itself was something of a post-apocalyptic scene, and in that sense it was normal for it to be devoid of life. What was not normal, however, was the complete lack of monsters—no creatures, not even a groan that could potentially clue them in on where to locate their first kill. The rain was their only company for now. Or was it? Quite suddenly, a yowl broke through the dull thuds created by water drops on pavement. A window to Brand's left shattered, sending glass cascading as a figure bounded through the frame, somehow avoiding the jagged edges. It landed near the party leader and turned to face the group, shock flickering across ... a male's face! Feline ears twitched atop his head when he cocked it, as if wordlessly inquiring who these trespassers were. Thankfully, they did not have long to wait to find out who this effeminate person was. Golden letters appeared above his head, spelling out his name and title: the NPC, Akihiko. NPC: AKIHIKO |
"Ah, brave warriors, I take it!" He spouted excitedly, voice cracking, as if he had only recently been introduced to the wonders of puberty. "I am in search of a rare item, but the monsters roaming this city are preventing me from reaching it. Will you help me?"OPTIONS!!> Accept the NPC's request. > Move on to pursue your own goals.

Pitiable Figure, Why Do You Beckon At Me?
His hoodie drew tight around his skin as the rain picked up, a Napoleonic gloved hand twisted a series of stress lines in the material. He fashioned a feeble skin out of the wool and shook the recent drops of rain off of his armor like a thousand lucid ants off a grand mammoth. Five black talons grabbed tighter on the wood of his staff as glass shattered with a threatening force towards him. The heavier shards landed near his feet while the needles bounced off his coat. A fey cannonball, the source of the pristine explosion, landed near his feet. Turqouise, teal, aquamarine, strands of wet hair turned in his direction and questioned him.
The npc queried in a falsetto voice if they, his group, his band, his party. Did they wish to help him retrieve a rare item? He lifted his cane; he was the leader of these people who followed in his wake, his glorious wake. He pointed the ornate wood, butt at the face of this creature, an accusing rod that helped spawn malicious powers. Boy... he sliced at his skin with his ruby red eyes. What will you sweeten the deal with? My time is and always will be precious.

Kid turned toward the character he saw, he noticed that this wasn't the kind of place he thought it was. This city was missing a very important thing, people. He didn't pay much attention to the name of the field until now, it was a post-apocalyptic city.
He heard shattering glass he turned into the direction of the sound, clenching his scythe tighter in case it was a hostile target. It was an NPC, it had long blue hair from which black cat ears pointed into the air.
[The World] surely wasted no time throwing PCs into a scenario. The boy asked for help with finding an item. What Kid still hadn't understood is, why did he come crashing through a window. Did a monster toss him through there? If so, its remarkable that monsters in this "newbie friendly" zone were capable of such a feat. Though, he could've just been looking too far into it.
The PC that he assumed to be the leader of the team began to speak with the NPC. Kid agreed with the group leader on that point, compensation was required, otherwise he'd lose interest. He still hadn't had the time to familiarize himself with his team mates for this mission, though he wasn't too worried about it. He just felt a little uncomfortable working with complete strangers.

> BGM SET: THE WRETCHED AUTOMATIONS
Indeed. Rain aside, the place was too quiet - no monsters, no players, heck, there's not even a treasure chest in sight. It's almost scary. Sure, The World is just some regular old MMORPG, but everything feels so realistic. Phira almost jumped at the sudden noise of glass breaking. Her weapons were drawn in instinct, ending up being aimed at a.... Cat Avatar?
Her grip relaxed at the sight of the yellow text. Well, that was sudden, meeting an NPC this early - or maybe it was part of the quest? She sheathed her blades as the NPC talked, and let her partymates do the talking. She frowned at the Wavemaster, however - why does he have to be so hostile? Still, she would have to agree with his thoughts: it's no use helping an NPC without getting a reward in return.
"Oh, I'm sure he could give something for us!" She chirped, that's how games work anyway. "Don't threaten him, or he might go away. We won't get our reward if that happens." She then turns to Akihiko and gives a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, we're not really scary people, can you tell us more about what you need?"

Elissa just stood there, with the others, until another member of their soon-to-be-quest materialized. Elissa's smile widened, as she saw it was the only girl, besides for herself, who signed up for the quest. She giggled to herself and walked up to the player. "Hi there! It's nice to meet you, Phira. I'm Elissa, and I'm going to be the archer for this quest." She turned around for the last part, to face the rest of her teammates, and beamed.
And then, Elissa heard the sound of glass breaking. She positioned her longbow towards the noise, and... out came a little boy! A little boy with cat ears! 'Oh wow... how cute!' Elissa thought to herself. He seemed to be an NPC, by the looks of it. Also seemed to want some help. Elissa gasped as the guy who seemed to be the team leader pointed his staff at the NPC, as the NPC asked for help. "H-hey, wait." Elissa said nervously, as she walked up the the team leader. "Even though he's an NPC, he's still just a kid! Besides..." She turned to the NPC, and said, "It seems like what he wants is a part of our quest as well. Isn't that right, Akihiko?" She smiled kindly at the boy.
